What a season. What a final.

A tough test for the best 53 teams in the country.

Well golfers—what a season it’s been, and what a Finals Day we had at Pumpherston Golf Club!

Fifty-three teams from across the UK took part in our National Final, with golfers travelling from Cruden Bay, Brora, Wiltshire, Cambridgeshire and everywhere in between.

We got a dry, sunny day at Pumpherston, but the punishing wind made the conditions seriously challenging. After the morning shotgun, The Flag Shaggers—our qualifiers from Glen Gorse Golf Club in Leicester—held the lead and faced a long wait for the afternoon field to come home. Had there been a tie, the grand prize would have gone to a closest-to-the-pin shootout.

Their excellent 57.9 eventually finished just 0.9 from the top. Whickham Bombshells claimed second on 57.3, with Middleton 3 Putt third on 57.7. One single shot covered the top five teams.

But the day belonged to PTB—Par Then Bar. The mixed team of two gents and two ladies became our first-ever mixed National Champions, posting a superb 57.0 from a team handicap of 2.0 to win four green jackets and a trip to the US Masters.
